Pandarini

Prologue The Planet

There is a planet called Pandarini. It is 6,00,000,0000000 miles away, or 6 trillion miles away from Earth! It would take 37,200 light years to travel there. Unless someone invented a new type of rocket. No one has. Almost everyone has given up. Almost.

Chapter 1 Minazi

“Minazi?” my mom called.

“One second!” I called back. I love science. Like, all kinds. I’m focused on astronomy now. There is a new planet that was just discovered. It’s called Pandarini. I want to be the one to invent the rocket that goes to Pandarini.

RING RING RING!

I’m getting a message on my phone. It says, “You’re invited to go to Pandarini!”

 “WHAT!? YES!”, I shouted.

“Ha! Tricked ya!” the message said.

 “Ugh!” I cried.

But then, an ad came on the TV.

It said, “Who wants to go to Pandarini? Sign up! Travel across the solar system from Earth to Pandarini! See what we haven’t explored! Travel 37,200 light years in 10 days!”

“Mom, can I sign up?” I called out.

“For what?” “To travel to Pandarini!”

“WHAT!” she cried, spilling her water.

“Minazi!” my older sister said. “I signed up!” she said.

That did it. “I’m signing up too!” I said.

Chapter 2 The Day

Every day, I waited. Sometimes I thought I won’t be able to go to Pandarini.

One day someone knocked on the door. He said, “Are you ready to go to Pandarini?”

“Yes, but I don’t have anything,” I said.

“Just get water and food,” he said.

My sister asked if she could also go, but the man said, “Only Minazi was selected to go to Pandarini.”

I got food and water, and said a very, very long goodbye to my family. Then, the man took me to a rocket.

As I went inside, I couldn‘t believe my eyes. It was amazing. Full of wonder and technology. There were other children too. And adults. That night in the rocket I slept very excited. The next 9 days were just like the first. Exciting. Soon, we landed on Pandarini.

Chapter 3 Pandarini

Pandarini was full of lush, green trees. Winged dragons flashed across the sky, showing off their bright, bold colors. There were humans walking behind the trees, shooting us looks. And sea humans with gills and sand dollars. Fast foxes streaked across the woods, blurred. But there were dangers too. Flying, spiked dragons called Netzias roamed the sky, looking for prey. Anyone could fall victim to their jaws.

Pandarini had continents and islands. There were the ruins of the islands Solia and Hozia. And the continents: Ikari, the main continent, Ranini, known for its volcanoes, and Nizani, the nature continent. There were tribes. Pandarini was a very mysterious planet.

I was very thirsty, and ran back to the rocket to get water. When I went in, the rocket began to shake. I grabbed enough water to last the group for a week and ran out. Well, I jumped out.

The rocket was floating! I looked up and saw a Netzia clutching our rocket. It sped away.

Chapter 4 Stranded

After the Netzia stole our rocket, I ran to the group. The leader, Lily, asked us to gather wood and create a campfire.

The other kids, who were my age, asked me for more detail about the attack. I told them what the Netzia looked like. It was golden and the tail had splashes of color, as if someone had dropped a few buckets of paint on the tail.

We made the campfire, but only had enough food to last a week. Lily said if we ration we could get two weeks of food. The kids and I wanted to get help from the other humans and sea humans, but the adults said it was too dangerous.

That night I asked the other kids if they wanted to sneak out. They said yes. So, we grabbed some food and water and ran off.

But during our trip we crossed the beach. That was a huge mistake. On the beach a nasty storm brewed up. I watched in horror as everyone was taken by sea human waves. Like a human grabbing a flying rock within a foot of them. I tried to save the others. Then, I was taken too.

Chapter 5  Separated

The adults went in the opposite direction from us right into the heart of a hurricane. “AAAAHH!” they screamed as they were sucked into the monstrous, wet vapor. It barrelled across a bridge crossing the ocean to Hozia.

“Grab the map!” cried the leader Lily to an adult named Bob.

“I can’t!” he shouted over the wind.

“Duck!” Lily screamed.

“What?” Then Bob turned and ducked. “AAHHHHH!” he yelled.

An adult named Rose reached for the map that had guided them. But two trees collided with each other with the map in between. The trees then brushed past each other, as pieces of the map swirled everywhere.

Bob said,”What now?”

Suddenly, the hurricane stopped.

Everyone landed on a soft, fluffy patch of grass. They brushed off the dust on them and headed toward somewhere to find materials to build a ship. Now, the adults had to figure out how to get to the beach, build a ship to sail away from Hozia, rescue our rocket, find all the children and get everyone home.

Chapter 6  The Journey

Lily the leader told everyone, “Rose and I will find materials for the ship. George, Ken and Roy will find the beach, then send a signal for Rose and I to find it.”

 “What signal?” Roy asked.

“Here, I have a grenade and 5 grenade proof suits.” Lily replied. “Use the grenade for the signal.”

They put on the suits and split up.

Rose and Lily went north. They found 10 fishing nets and 7 axes. They chopped wood for the ship, and also used tree sap to glue 8 fishing nets together into a big net. The net’s purpose was to carry the chopped  wood. Lily held the net while Rose chopped the wood.

Bob, Ken and George went south. Along the way, they found an abandoned mine. They found a lot of metal. There they also found a map. They went in the direction where the beach was supposed to be. When they found it, they set off the grenade.

Rose and Lily set off towards the explosion. It took a long time but they got there. They all gathered an immense amount of tree sap. It took one hour to build the whole ship. But they were missing the sailcloth.

Chapter 7  Earth

The children and I escaped from the sea humans. Somehow, we could breathe. The children decided to dump me because of my bad advice. I followed them. But I ran into a shark.

The shark spoke into my mind! “Do you need to go somewhere?” it asked.

“Yes!” I replied. I swam onto its back.

We found the kids drowning in a whirlpool. We rushed to save them. The shark helped us land on the Hozia beach. Then it swam away.

I saw the adults waving over to us with a ship. The ship did not have a sailcloth. We ran to them.

Lily told us that the dragon that took our rocket (I call her Crimer) its lair was around there. The adults had found the rocket.

Using a rope we found on the ground we dragged our rocket away. Crimer woke up with a jolt.

“ROOOAAARRR!!” she screeched. Then the most surprising thing happened. The sea humans came to our rescue.

“Get out of here while you can!!” one cried.

We ran inside our rocket and took off.

For the next week and three days all we thought about was home. The trip was ten days long but it felt like ten centuries. On the last day of travel we saw Earth.

When we finally landed a reporter was saying, “The Pandarini group has come home! The Pandarini group has come home!”

Everybody was asking us a lot of questions but I just wanted to see my family. I pushed through the crowd.

Everyone was chasing me. The same thing happened to the other kids.

In the crowd, I saw my dad waving to me. I ran and jumped into his arms. Everyone cheered. Some people threw confetti. Others tossed balloons in the air. The balloons sailed away. I laughed as confetti was sprinkled on my face.

That night, we celebrated my 9th birthday with an ice cream cake with Pandarini on it! I invited everyone from the Pandarini group. It was my best birthday ever. My sister kept asking me so many questions. I had to toss an ice cream cake dragon at her to stop. It was funny. I went on more trips to Pandarini with the same kids. But those are other stories. Amazing stories.

The end!
