On the night of Sarah’s 16th birthday, she was reading a new, shining, gleaming comic about her favorite superhero, ShockShore, and her sidekick, ClawCat. She wanted to be a superhero, and have cool powers, but mostly wanted to protect her city, Quelton, which dazzled in the sunlight, from any bad, mysterious people. She cared about her family, friends, and her city, so that night, she made a wish on her birthday while blowing out her candles. “I wish I could become a superhero,” she thought. She thought about her and her puppy Cocoa saving the city, and having so much fun! After she made this wish, she was ecstatic, although doubtful, she knew that superheroes weren’t real, but being the headstrong, stubborn leader she is, she decided to give it a chance.

After a good night’s sleep, Sarah decided to get up and make breakfast for her family. She went to her kitchen and started making French toast, her favorite. She went to the nearest cabinet and tried to get the bread, but it was too high up. So, she decided to get a stool and try again.
Even though she knew she couldn’t, she was determined to get the bread and make the best French toast she possibly could. (She was hungry!) She said out loud, “I wish I could get the bread!” and it magically came down in her arms.
Forgetting all thoughts about her wish, she stuttered, “Am… Am… Did… Did my wish come true? Am… Am I a superhero?!” Just then, something was thumping, yelling aggressively, coming from her porch.
Testing
Although she was about to scream, Sarah thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to test out her powers, so at first, she wished that the cause of her fright would just vanish, but it didn’t work, so she wished for the power to fight the villain with ease without getting hurt or seriously injured.
“Well only one way to find out,” she said, and calmly walked out the door, only to face a huge, brutally ugly, ginormous, disgusting troll standing outside, roaring its big, ugly, stinky breath on her.
Before she could figure out what was happening, the troll started walking onto the street.
Great, just what she needed, publicity, which meant fame, which meant criticism, which meant that she really hadn’t thought about it. Sarah had always been the brave type, but also shy. She knew that she had to stop the troll, so she said, “I wish I could know the troll’s weak spot.” and she just knew… the bump on its right arm. She decided to get a large stick and just jab it in there, but she didn’t really know if that would work, but,” Hey,” she thought, “at least I can be prepared!”
She headed out the door, not knowing what to expect, or what the day would bring.
Brutal, Just brutal
She ran onto the street, and flew up into the air, her puppy right behind her… the troll was on Quelton Main Street, just great. This street had the most buildings, and it was shining and sparkling in the dazzling sunlight. It was the largest street and many people lived on it. Here, she would get the most attention.
She flew down (well mostly parallel as he was short only in troll height) and (stick in arm) landed on a nearby building. She could see the knot-like bump on his arm, so she decided to go for it, before the press came… but TOO LATE… her mind exploded like confetti coming out of a cannon…
She went for it, at this point not caring, and jabbed it into the troll’s arm and BAM just knocked him out!
Her parents came running, the street applauding, the press taking picture after picture. Sarah didn’t know whether to feel glory or shock. She decided to go with both.
Headlines
The headline of the Quelton Press’s latest article read, “A New Take ~ A Mysterious Superhero Could be the Rise of QUELTON.”
Quelton, oh Quelton. This city was attacked by villains once or twice, here and there. People were relying on HER to put a stop to this. Obviously, no one wanted Quelton, their glorious city, to constantly be attacked, now do they? She covered herself in her blankets after reading this. She was afraid this would happen!
Her best friend, Katie, came over and said, “Why didn’t you tell me!”
Sarah replied,” Huh? About the Superhero thing? It just was yesterday!”
“Well,” said Katie, “ I have something to tell you – I’m one too!”
“WHAT?!?” “Yup, I’m Shock Shore, and Klippy is ClawCat!”
Drama
After a while, they started crime-fighting together, until something happened…
On their recent sleepover, Katie just burst out on Sarah saying rude things that Sarah knew weren’t true (or had a good reason to be). She said things like Sarah gets all the attention, and Sarah takes credit for everything (which was quite the opposite) and that she’s been thinking about this for a while, and she’s found a new partner, now once she had said this she had crossed the line. Sarah’s inner lion came roaring out. She knew exactly why this conversation had been brought up. Katie had found a new partner, someone she liked, and someone that she wanted to replace Sarah with. Sarah was sad but decided not to gloom over it. She had more pressing matters to worry about.
Quelton
Sarah decided that her best friend would snap out of it soon, and took Cocoa for a walk. The city was so beautiful, Sarah couldn’t stop taking it in. The luscious trees and lakes were sparkling in the sunlight- it was so beautiful. The streets gleamed and the fresh fragrance and different aromas of the best bakeries lingered on the streets. Sarah loved taking Cocoa out for walks like these. It lets her get away from all of the talk and gossip… things that she didn’t feel very comfortable with. Sarah decided that taking walks with Cocoa would be an everyday thing, so here she was now! She absolutely loved and adored her city of Quelton. From the breathtaking views to the vibrant and free-willing community that could experience it all! (Even if they were a bit nosy!)
Crime-Fighting Buzz
Eventually, crime-fighting became a regular thing! Even though Sarah tried to flee (as fast as possible) every-single-time she finished being Quelton’s savior, she still got pulled over for many interviews, which she gritted her way through. She wasn’t able to fully avoid them.
On another note, Katie came back to Sarah and apologized. Sarah said she still wanted to crime-fight on her own, but she accepted her apology, “It was a crazy and unexplainable thing you did back there lol!”
“I know and I’m sorry,” said Katie.
Sometimes, they still did crime-fight together, but mostly it was Sarah with her puppy, and Katie with her cat. Sarah still couldn’t believe she didn’t know about ShockShore and ClawCat! She thought they made the purr-fect pair, but she and Cocoa made the paw-fect team!
Wishgenie and STARBLAZE
Sarah had never really thought about her Superhero name, nor did Cocoa, but they decided to go with WishGenie and StarBlaze. Sometimes, Sarah thought of other names, but Cocoa only listened to StarBlaze and nothing else! So, WishGenie and StarBlaze are going to stay!
