Bob’s Life

by Jolene M.

“The message of the story is that you can make new friends even though you’re different.”

Once there was a person called Bob. Bob was half human, half wolf. During the day, Bob was human. During the night, Bob was a werewolf. Bob had to be careful day and night. If people saw him then he would be hunted down.

Life was hard for Bob. Bob’s only friends were wolves. He only had wolf friends because the wolves treated him like a family member. They didn’t care if Bob was human or not. Bob didn’t have any human friends because he was scared that they would try to kill him. Bob really wanted to have human friends like normal people, but his dream of having human friends was ending because he was a werewolf. Bob was always sad because of it. Bob’s wolf friends tried to cheer him up by telling jokes, making funny faces, and even pretending to be people but it was no use. In the end, Bob decided to move into a cave instead of living in a forest.

Then, Bob’s life turned happier at last. One day when Bob was exploring his new home, he came upon another werewolf named George. George said he was looking for gems. Bob and George found the gems together. With teamwork they found gold, diamonds, and even emeralds! ‘’Great work!’’ cheered George.

One night, they saw a hunter. With George being at his side, Bob finally gathered the courage to speak to the hunter because he had been longing to have human friends. They went to the hunter and said, ‘’We mean no harm. We just want to make friends with people like you.’’

The hunter replied, ‘’Why would I trust a werewolf?”

“I know we have many differences. You are a human, and we are werewolves. However, I believe that we can become good friends if we can overcome our rivalry and seek common ground while respecting differences,” Bob explained.

The hunter said, “Your words make sense. I’ll be your friend.”

“That’s great!” said Bob. George said that he could live with them. The hunter gladly accepted the invitation.

“Oh, by the way, my name is Max.” The hunter extended his hand to Bob.

Bob shook his hand and said, ‘“Nice to meet you. My name is Bob.”

George said, ‘’Nice to meet you too, my name is George.” George told Max that they would go gem hunting every day.

“That sounds fantastic!” said Max.

Ever since, Bob, George and Max lived happily together.
