Dragon Kingdom

Some people called them “The inseparables.” On their next birthday, these twins will turn six years old. Their names were Elodie and Jack. The kids love to play Games together. That night, Elodie read a book called “The great heroes.” It was about elves, dragons and humans all reunited and solving mysteries together. When midnight struck, Elodie and Jack woke up and found themselves in another world. The world was really loud, nothing like home. The pair were a little scared. In the world there were a lot of humongous clouds and different types of dragons. The oversized creatures did unpredictable things like going to school, playing on the playground, going to work, going to the hospital and had iPads, computers, watches and phones. Elodie decided to say ”Hello” to one to see if they could understand. They didn’t think it would work. Elodie decided to say “hi” to a blue and purple dragon with vertical green stripes on her hand. 

Elodie said “Hi” to the dragon. The dragon said “Hello, my name is Stormcloud . Who are you? Are you new here? Do you want a tour…Oh sorry I’m very talkative.” She was asking a lot of questions that Elodie cut her off.

 “Hi, Stormcloud. I am Elodie and this is my brother Jack. We are new here and we would like a tour. We came from another world and when we woke up we landed here!”

“Welcome to Draco Regnum!” said Stormcloud.“ Here is the village. This shop sells yarn, this shop sells chocolate, this shop sells bakeries, this shop sells clothes, this shop sells fabric, this is the bank, this the supermarket, this is the stationary shop, this is the journal shop..this, that, this, that. . . ”  Around one and a half hours later, Stormcloud gave the kids a whole tour around the village except for the palace.The palace was huge. It was blue with some green polka-dots on the top and bottom. There were also three layers of purple on top and under the polka-dots.“ This is the Grand Platinum. King Draco Aire de Vitro lives there,” said Stormcloud.

“Can we enter?” asked Jack. He said that because he loves to explore and read about castles. 

“I think we could. Let me ask the guard.”  So he walked up to a guard and asked the guard if they could enter. They were talking in a language Elodie and Jack couldn’t understand. 

When he came back, he said, “The guard said he would ask the king.”  Just as he finished saying this the guard approached and told them to follow him. He led them to a door then, they saw a lot of finger marks. He scanned his fingerprint on a finger mark labeled Mark. 

Elodie asked the guard, “Is your name Mark?” 

“Did Stormcloud tell you about me?” replied Mark, raising his eyebrow. ”No, the fingerprint mark you just put your finger on and under it was labeled ‘Mark.’” When they entered the room they saw a red and white throne. On that throne, there sat a king. 

“Welcome to the Grand Platinum,” announced the king in a very deep voice. 

“This is King Draclo Aire de Vitro but we call him Draclo,” said Mark. “I’m really excited for you to meet him.” Suddenly, the king vanished. 

A voice appeared out of nowhere. “All the royal kings, queens, princes and princesses have powers.”  They realized that the voice was the king because the king appeared behind them and said, “Surprised you right?” and he let out a wild laugh. “My magic is to turn invisible. Stormcloud, can you tell these kids your power?” 

“You are a prince!” exclaimed Elodie. 

Draclo said, “Yes, Stormcloud is my son. He didn’t tell you?”  

“Okay, my power is that I could make anything I want from my head come true.” It was getting dark and the kids didn’t have anywhere to sleep so the king said they could stay in the palace. 

The next day, the king was shouting and crying like crazy when they woke up. They got out of their bed to see what happened. “Why are you shouting?” shouted Jack in a loud voice. He was clearly annoyed, and his eyes were half-closed. The king didn’t hear him because he was shouting really loudly. Just then Mark and Stormcloud rushed in to see what happened. 

“Do you know what happened?” Elodie asked Stormcloud. 

“No, but I’ll ask him,” replied Stormcloud. Stormcloud went to ask his father why he was reacting like that. Just when he was about to ask him, a bird appeared and chirped something into his ear but somehow, Elodie understood a bit. 

The bird said something like “ King…Crown…Stolen…” 

Stormcloud turned towards the kids and Mark and said, “This is Chirpadle, Draclo’s pet bird. He told me that the king’s crown got stolen at night when we were all sleeping and the king thinks that his enemy stole it.” 

The kids asked him, “Who is his enemy?” “ It’s…it’s…” then, Stormcloud stumbled, and fainted.” 

“Oh no! Stormcloud fainted!” exclaimed the kids and Mark at the same time. They went to the royal nurse. They waited for Stormcloud to wake up. Stormcloud woke up!!! 

Soon after, they went to Celeron Island. While they were going there, Stormcloud said, “Here is close to where the enemy lives.”  They arrived at a crown shaped bush. The bush had a sign that said, “Keep Out! King ahead.”  Stormcloud said, “This is the elf village.” In front of the bush there were thousands of small tree houses. They went to visit the weird village and they saw a lot of vines on the last treehouse. They guessed that a rich elf lived there because none of the others were covered with vines.

They saw the king and started asking him a lot of questions. The king bellowed in his loud voice, “I saw a suspicious thing yesterday but he ran away into the dark. The next day I asked all my guards to find that elf because the night before he was holding a suspicious grin and had a sword in his tiny hand. But all my soldiers came back empty handed so I think he went to another island.”  Stormcloud said, “Thank you very very much!” 

Then the troop continued to hit the trail. They reached the ocean and Stormcloud drew a boat. They all went aboard and settled on the closest island because they thought the elf would go there because it was late night when he went away.They saw a sign that said Caldia so they guessed that Caldia was the name of the island. On the way to visit the next island they met two nice elves, Aspen and Atticus. Soon they became friends. Stormcloud explained about the elf thing. She said, “We talked to the king of Celeron and he said that he saw a strange little elf that had a suspicious grin and was holding a sword. Then he said he asked all his guards to find the elf but all his guards came back empty handed.” Then the 5 friends continued the elf adventure. On the way the group of friends introduced themselves. 

Jack started and said, “I am Jack. I am 5 years old.” 

Then Elodie introduced herself and she said, “I am Elodie. I am 5 years old, too.” And so on. 

When they were about to get off the island a group of elfs appeared out of nowhere. They started to fight. The elfs in front had mini swords and shields. In the back there was a bigger elf who was holding a larger sword and shield. They battled a lot and a lot. At the end they injured most of the elfs. They injured all except the big one. They hit him so much that he ran away. Some of them got hurt but not a lot. Then they took a little break, then they continued their big journey ahead. They walked around and around until Elodie had an idea. “Didn’t the king say that he saw an elf and. . .”  

“He held a small sword,” replied the others. “We battled elfs. And they had small swords. So one of them can be it!”  They all examined all the elves that they hurt. All of them had bags, but none of the bags had crowns. They stayed silent so they could think. 

“Maybe the ones we didn’t hurt got it because they thought it was a great and beautiful treasure!” exclaimed Jack.

“Do you think it’s the big elf or the soldiers stole it?” wondered Atticus. They walked in circles quietly so they could think better. 

“Do you think it was the big one? I saw that at the beginning his bag was empty but then it became big as if he put something in or it inflated,” remarked Stormcloud. 

“No,” replied Aspen. “I think it was one of the soldiers because I climbed up a tree to shoot an arrow at some soldiers but then I saw something shiny in his bag. I was going to go after him to catch him but he saw me and ran away.” 

Elodie decided to write the clues and suspects they have. She wrote down: 

Clues 

● Big elf’s bag inflated 

● Soldier had shiny thing in his bag 

Suspects

● Bigelf 

● Soldier 

“It can be either way. What if we dress up as a soldier and we can see if they talk about the crown?” suggested Atticus. 

“You, me and Aspen would be too tall and some of us don’t even look like elves like me. I look like a dragon,” replied Stormcloud. Atticus knew that meant no. Stormcloud used her magic to make a house and dinner for them. They ate a sandwich with a cookie for dessert. While Elodie was trying to sleep she wondered if her mom at home would miss her. But then she fell asleep. 

When Elodie woke up the next morning, she saw Jack and Atticus talking and laughing together. Then she saw Aspen shooting arrows at a target. She decided to hang out with Aspen. She walked over to Aspen and asked if she could try to shoot. Pretty soon Elodie was having a class. Stormcloud studied the map to see where to go and what route they should take. After 2 hours they were still having a deep conversation and searching. 

At lunch, Stormcloud told them the plan and they continued their adventure. Stormcloud said they will fly back to Draco Regnum to see if the king’s okay and tell him all they discovered. Stormcloud drew flying wings for Aspen, Atticus, and the kids so they could go faster. Once they arrived they went to the castle and saw Mark again. Mark let them in but once they were in they didn’t see the king anywhere. They checked everywhere to make sure he wasn’t hiding. Since they didn’t find the king, they decided to wait a little in case he was going to the bathroom or something. They waited and waited but he didn’t come out. 

Elodie asked Mark, “Do you know where Draco is?” 

“No,” responded Mark. They looked for the king for hours but they didn’t find him. By that time they thought he was kidnapped. 

“Do you think he’s kidnapped?” asked Jack. 

“Maybe,” responded Aspen. 

Elodie remembered the first time she and Jack met and remembered that the king had the power to become invisible. “The king can become invisible, right?” said Elodie. 

“OH YEAH!” said the others. Just then the king appeared and said, “The girl is right. I listened to you guys talking.” 

“But why did you hide?” asked Jack. 

“Because I wanted to see if you guys made a good team,” replied the king. They told the king about what happened. 

Stormcloud said, “We went to the elf land and visited several islands.” 

“Then we battled elves,” continued Aspen. “They all held little swords but they all had suspicious grins,” said Jack. 

“So we think that one of them took the crone,” finished Atticus. 

There was a long pause for a few minutes then the king said, “I see.That is a great start now to continue to find out more and get the crown back.” After that being said, the group went and continued their journey. 

They went to an island called Caldition. The island was huge and there were a lot of treehouses. They thought about everything when suddenly they bumped into the royal king of Caldition. “Sorry, we weren’t focusing on where we were going,” said Atticus. 

“It’s ok, but as payback you have to fight my soldiers,” replied the king while wiggling around like he was holding a big secret. Aspen, Atticus and Stormcloud were going to fight the soldiers. Elodie thought there was something strange about the king’s behavior, so she took her safety telescope and searched everywhere around. She found the two mysterious results of the king’s behavior. First, all 5 of them were on the wanted poster and on the king’s head there was a crown with a dragon symbol and the crown had a signature that said Draclo Vitro (The dragon king’s crown). She showed her brother and before they knew it the battle was done and Aspen, Atticus and Stormcloud won. 

Elodie told everything to the group and they decided to ask the king if they could check out the palace. At the end of their discovery, they found the crown and told the king all about the incident. They figured out that the king asked his guards to get him a crown and that he thought that Draclo Aire was a descendant of his. After that the big troup headed back to the castle. When they arrived it was all dark because it was night time. Instead of waking the king up they just put his crown on a table with a note that told the king that they found the crown. When Elodie and Jack went up the stairs to go to their room the stairs seemed to go on forever. Around them, there were colorful swirls of color. Suddenly they found themselves in their bed in their house just in time for breakfast. But the kids were too tired for breakfast so they just went back to sleep.
