Summer Selection
From our summer finalists we select one piece to feature as our Summer Selection. This year’s selection, “The Heart of Poetry”, is an invitation to write poetry about any challenge or celebration in life.
Through impressive figurative language references, the author presents a message relatable to all writers. As one of our editors shared, “This poem expresses exactly what poetry provides for writers….phrases that get to where poetry can go…what it exposes…how it is an opportunity for vulnerability, yet it is “Poetry is a spark of hope, Poetry is a story”.
